‘hostage’ represents Billie’s love for her partner, delivered by a metaphor on behalf of her special ‘other’ as a hostage she wants to maintain for herself.

The clip was released on October 08, 2018. Directed by Henry Scholfield, the London-based director who worked on Dua Lipa’s “IDGAF”, “Lost in your light”, “New Rules”, Stromae’s “Tous Les Mêmes”, Phonat-s “Fire”, and Professor Green’s”Are You Getting Enough?”

Last year, Billie Eilish released her debut Ep “Don’t Smile at Me” through Interscope Records. It features many of her previously published singles, such as “Ocean Eyes”, “Bellyache” and “Watch”.

The EP was written by Billie Eilish, FINNEAS, and Vince Staples, while production for individual tracks comes from FINNEAS and Vince Staples.
